Madiun is a city located in East Java, Indonesia, covering an area of around 33 km². It is famously called the City of Pecel, named after its signature dish, pecel madiun, which is popular across the country and abroad. Madiun is also the center of Indonesia’s railway industry through PT INKA (Indonesian Railways Industry). In terms of education, the city is home to many schools and universities. Strategically situated along Java’s southern route, Madiun serves as both a transit hub and a growing commercial center. The city is also recognized for its landmarks, including Madiun’s central square (Alun-Alun), Wilis Stadium, and Kresek Monument, which stands as a reminder of the city’s historical struggles.
