Explore Indonesia in WorldGuessr! The world's largest archipelago spans 5,000 km across 17,000 islands straddling the equator. Navigate from Sumatra's jungles and volcanic peaks through densely populated Java to the savannas of eastern islands and the rainforests of Papua. Each island group has distinct architecture, vegetation, and terrain. Learn to identify regions by mosque styles, volcanic cones, rice terrace patterns, and the distinctive Indonesian road signage amid tropical landscapes.

How to recognize Indonesia

Indonesia drives on the left. Licence plates are black with white text, and the roads are full of motorbikes. Signs are in Indonesian, with JALAN for street. Villages are dense, with tiled roofs, mosques, small shops and red-and-white flags. Rice terraces, palm oil plantations and volcanoes shape the countryside.

Java is the most covered island: crowded and green, with big cities like Jakarta and Surabaya. Bali has Hindu temples, stone shrines and tourist areas. Sumatra has palm plantations and jungle. Sulawesi and the eastern islands are hillier and quieter. Deep drainage ditches and steep hills are common everywhere.
